Chef-led, love-of-food driven
Elder Press Café is founded by chef Lindsay Elder, whose career began in San Francisco after training at the California Culinary Academy and working with renowned chefs including Wolfgang Puck, Bradley Ogden and Master Chef Jacky Robert. She later worked in London kitchens such as The Connaught, The Goring and Sally Clarke’s before joining the celebrated Books for Cooks – in Notting Hill as a test kitchen chef.
Lindsay went on to run her own catering company, consult on television shows including The Two Fat Ladies, and study Dietetics and Nutrition. Elder Press Café opened in 2019, bringing together Lindsay's chef’s experience and love of wholesome, flavour-led food.

Here, nourishment isn’t just on the plate. Explore our handpicked selection of cookbooks, food memoirs, and wellness reads – available to browse and buy right in the café.
Looking for inspiration? Join our author events for tastings, talks, and stories that bring food and wellbeing to life.
So grab a seat, open a book, and stay awhile. Inspiration is always on the menu.
Bringing Your Pooch?
🐾 We’re big fans of four-legged guests – the tail-wagging, treat-loving kind. If you're planning to bring your dog along, please let us know when booking (especially if they’re more Beethoven than Chihuahua). We have a limited number of indoor tables suited to larger dogs, and we’d love to make sure you’re both comfy.
While we’re all about the canine cuddles, we do have a few polite rules in place to keep tails wagging and coffee cups upright. Think of it as table manners for everyone – humans and hounds alike.
Thanks for helping us keep the café joyful, relaxed, and just the right amount of chaotic.
